Planet Zoo 2 is Frontier Developments' zoo management simulation, released on 13 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It keeps the piece-by-piece building of the first game and adds fully aquatic animals with customisable aquariums, aviaries with flying birds, and Wildlife Reserves where you restore habitat and release animals back into the wild.

Three modes share one simulation: Career (scenario zoos with medals), Franchise (online-connected zoos, animal trading and accreditation) and Sandbox (free build with no economy pressure). The official Zoopedia in this site's dataset lists 136 species across terrestrial habitats, aquariums, aviaries and exhibits.

1. Pick an enclosure type — terrestrial, aquarium, aviary or exhibit. Each one changes space, filtration, staffing and cost before you place a single object.
2. Read the animal record — barrier grade and height, temperature range, terrain mix and group limits. Every one of those is a welfare check later.
3. Build and hold welfare — terrain paint, shelter, water, enrichment and social groups. Welfare warnings appear long before an animal is in danger.
4. Research, breed, release — research unlocks care items, breeding fills the habitat, and Wildlife Reserves turn surplus animals into biodiversity stars.
5. Raise the zoo's standing — reputation stars and biodiversity stars are what push Franchise accreditation to the next tier.

Release, platform and roster facts are checked against the official site and the in-game Zoopedia; the capture date is printed on every animal page.

Progress is deliberately separate per mode: Frontier confirmed on 14 October 2026 that Career accreditation and Franchise accreditation do not feed each other. Choose the mode that matches what you want to do today.

Planet Zoo 2 launched on 13 October 2026 and has already shipped 1.0.4 and 1.0.5. Values move. This site is built so that a wrong number is visible rather than hidden.

• Every animal page is data — the tables come from the Zoopedia records captured on 17 October 2026, not from memory.
• Every page says when it was checked — patch-sensitive pages carry the version they were verified against.
• Unverified stays unverified — where Frontier has not published a value, the page says so instead of guessing.
